Galilean Style Seashell Cross - Pastel Pink

Product Description

Galilean Style Seashell Cross - Pastel Pink

Each cross is handmade and one of a kind. They can be hung with a simple shoestring, a ribbon or a chain.

In most ancient art you will recognize St. John the Baptist, because he is usually holding a seashell, a symbol of Baptism. In most liturgical settings, a seashell is used to pour the water in Baptism. The connection with seashells and water is a given.

The Way of St. James (Santiago de Compostela) in Spain is always represented by the Seashell. Also, seashells are a sign of Pilgrimage. We went on Pilgrimage to Israel in 1999. While visiting the Sea of Galilee, we had the good fortune to purchase a handmade seashell cross, it was very simply made on cardboard. I have had the pleasure of wearing this simple cross for almost 20 years and to this day have received compliments whenever I wear it.

My handmade crosses are the same design and sure to be a favorite piece of jewelry.

 Mounted on hard polymer
